Justin Edward Pawluck, 28, has a list of new allegations to fight in court, including fighting with an arresting police officer.

Pawluck has been charged with driving while prohibited, resisting a peace officer, assaulting a peace officer, and possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking

He has been remanded in custody until his next court appearance scheduled for June 4th, 2012.

According to police, a Mountie from the city's Crime Reduction Team (which targets prolific offenders) was on patrol in the area of 20th Avenue and Juniper Street one afternoon last week. The member saw a man he believed was prohibited from driving, so he pulled him over. Once out of the vehicle, however, the man allegedly didn't like the idea of being arrested.

"He ran from the officer through an alley and into a neighbouring yard where the officer caught the suspect," alleged Prince George RCMP spokesman Cpl. Craig Douglass. "The suspect resisted the arrest and engaged the officer in a struggle in which the officer was assaulted. As a result of this, the suspect gained momentary freedom and the addition of two criminal charges."

Another Mountie was in the vicinity and spotted the man about a block away in another residential yard. He was out of breath and gave in to arrest with no further struggle.

"Upon search of the male, a large sum of cash was found on his person," said Douglass. "Police service dog Baron and his handler were requested to attend the scene. Baron tracked the path of the suspect to a cell phone and a significant quantity of both crack and powder cocaine located hidden in the same yard in which the suspect was located."
