A virtual LEAP Conference for Women in Business will be held Sept. 29 to Oct. 1 that's hosted by the Community Futures Fraser Fort George with funding from Western Economic Diversification.

The Leadership & Entrepreneur Accelerator Program online conference will offer participants an opportunity to gain tools needed to take the next LEAP forward in their career.

The program is geared to help women break down barriers in their professional life when starting or growing a business, taking a leadership role or moving into male dominated sectors.

The conference will address subjects like leading yourself and others, gender inclusivity, and building a personal network.

Both female and male participants will learn how to foster the development of women and connect with keynote speakers, exhibitors, and other participants virtually.

"With the funding support from Western Economic Diversification Community Futures Fraser Fort George is able to launch our very first LEAP Conference," Susan Stearns, general manager for Community Futures Fraser Fort George, said. "We are also extremely excited to be able to offer the conference in a digital format as it enables those who may not otherwise be able to attend the opportunity to participate. Our goal with this conference is to provide women throughout Northern BC and beyond with knowledge, tools, resources and connections that they can take away and apply to their day-to-day life."
