There are many reasons someone might want their groceries brought to their door, whether it's a medical condition, convenience, or you just don't like braving the grocery store.

If any of the above are you or any other reason, there's another grocer in Prince George that now offers delivery.

As of today (Feb. 28), Real Canadian Superstore is offering delivery through Instacart which is similar to services like Skip The Dishes.

You have two ways to order: through Instacart.ca or the mobile app.

The following postal codes will be available to use the service: V2K, V2L, V2M, V2N.

If you are interested in the service, delivery is $3.99 for orders over $35. If you use services like this regularly, you can do the more cost friendly option of an Instacart Express membership, which will give you free same-day deliveries to your home, business or wherever you are with orders greater than $35.

You can get a two-week free trial, after which the membership is $9.99 a month of $99 for a year.

And just for Prince George, you can use the code "HIPRINCEGEORGE" at the time of checkout to get $20 off an order of $35 or more and free delivery for the first time. The offer does expire on June 14.

So we decided here at PrinceGeorgeMatters to try the new service out and see what it's like.

We created an account (which was extremely easy) and browsed through the categories. Categories include produce, dairy and eggs, pantry, bulk, snacks, beverages, bakery, meat and seafood, frozen, household, pasta, deli, personal care, babies, pets and many more.

After the order was placed shortly before 10 a.m., a text alert was sent that our order had been received at 10 a.m.

You can track the status of your order through the app, step by step.

We asked for our order to be delivered between 12-1 p.m. You also have other opens such as within two hours or within five hours or more detailed hourly time slots.

Another alert came at 11:43, saying someone at the store began shopping for our items. The driver left the store at 12:01 p.m. and our food was at our office by 12:15.

You do pre-pay for your order online. The driver from Instacart will be the one who brings your order, also similar to Skip The Dishes.

You know what they say, time is money and here we are enjoying our lunch while writing this.
