The University of Northern British Columbia (UNBC) Active Minds' summer camp program and Hadih House are making sure there are no barriers to any child that is interested in having fun with science, sport and history, this summer.
They are working to identify eight young people wanting to experience science and sport at a summer camp in July and August, but may not otherwise be able to participate due to various obstacles.
UNBC Active Minds is a science- and sport-based summer camp for kids ages seven to 12 and Hadih House provides cultural services and social programs in the Carney Hill-VLA neighbourhood.
"We are dedicated to providing accessible programming and minimizing any barriers that families may face," said UNBC Active Minds manager Virginia Sprangers.
"We want to make sure every child who wants to experience UNBC Active Minds has the opportunity."
Sprangers pointed out that for any other family who have children wanting to participate in any of the four themed camps: It's Alive, The Future is Friendly, Back in Time or It's Easy Being Green, can apply for a bursary if they face financial obstacles.
