Taseko Mines is dismissing a study that claims B.C. Hydro customers will be subsidizing its Prosperity copper-gold mine, proposed for southwest of Williams Lake, to the tune of $35 million a year.

Taseko Mines is dismissing a study that claims B.C. Hydro customers will be subsidizing its Prosperity copper-gold mine, proposed for southwest of Williams Lake, to the tune of $35 million a year.

"There is no power subsidy associated with Prosperity," Taseko corporate affairs vice president Brian Battison said Wednesday. "We will pay the current industrial rate for power that any other industrial user in B.C. pays, no different than anyone else."
