With the help of curriculum provided by a non-profit organization, the federal election was turned into a teachable moment for classes in a dozen elementary schools around Prince George this week.
While their parents head to the polls this Monday, Grade 6 and 7 students held votes of their own on Thursday and Friday, complete with deputy returning officers and poll clerks and near-authentic ballots and voting boxes supplied by Student Vote.
