A 17-year-old cyclist was charged with two offences to add insult to his minor injuries following a collision with a vehicle at the entrance to Masich Place Stadium shortly after 3 p.m. Monday.
Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said the rider faces a $109 fine for riding on the sidewalk and a $29 fine for riding without a helmet, plus victim surcharges, under the Motor Vehicle Act.
The vehicle was heading down the hill on Griffiths Drive when the cyclist crossed the street behind the vehicle, then up onto the sidewalk and then tried to beat the vehicle as it was turning into the parking lot, Douglass said.
The vehicle was hit with about $1,500 worth of damage from the crash, Douglass said.
