Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for a man who allegedly pulled over and offered a 13-year-old boy a ride to school on Wednesday morning.
The incident occurred near 10th Avenue and Douglas Street in the Central Fort George area at about 8 a.m., police were told.
The man was described as Caucasian with a medium build and was driving a grey late-model crew cab pick-up truck with side and rear tinted windows and a long box.
"Although the motive for this incident is not known, investigators would like to speak to the driver of this vehicle," Cpl. Craig Douglass said. "Police would also like to remind the motoring public that it is not appropriate to be offering our youth rides. If you have a concern for a student's safety, call the police."
Police also provided the following tips to students;
- Always be aware of their surroundings when walking to and from school;
- Never accept a ride without talking to your parents first. Even if you know the driver;
- Whenever possible, walk with a friend.
