Stolz running for council

Cameron Stolz has made it official. The incumbent city councillor is the first to officially declare himself in the running for the upcoming municipal election.

Cameron Stolz has made it official. The incumbent city councillor is the first to officially declare himself in the running for the upcoming municipal election.

There had been some speculation that he would challenge for the mayor's chair but on Tuesday the small business owner announced it was another term on council that he was seeking.

The election for municipal government (including mayor, councillor, regional district representatives, board of education) starts in about seven weeks. Advance polls will open Nov. 9 and the general voting day will be Nov. 19.

Others have told The Citizen they will be running in the election including mayor Dan Rogers, councillors Brian Skakun and Murry Krause, and first-time candidate Dorothy Friesen. As yet, none by Stolz has officially declared.
