Two Prince George residents have been charged in connection with a truck stolen from the Okanagan.

Around 7:15 p.m. Wednesday, an RCMP officer attempted to pull over a vehicle travelling south on Foothills Boulevard, but the driver of the green Ford F-150 failed to stop. Officers did not pursue the truck, due to safety concerns, but confirmed it had been stolen from Vernon on July 12.

About 15 minutes later, officers located and arrested two people believed to be involved with the stolen truck near Westwood Drive and Ferry Avenue. The truck was also recovered.

William Nicolas Rahkola, 22, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000, flight from police and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle.

Rebecca Susanne Rahkola, 26, has been charged with possession of stolen property over $5,000 and failure to comply with probation.

Both were held in custody until their first appearance in provincial court Thursday afternoon.
