It's not too late to sign up for a walk in support of people affected by workplace tragedy this Sunday at Masich Place.

Although the deadline for online registrations has passed, organizers of Steps for Life are welcoming everyone who shows up for the event, which starts at 11 a.m. runs until 3 p.m.

And they're encouraged to wear personal protection equipment - from hard hats to high visibility vests. Sunscreen, hats and sunglasses are also urged given sunny weather in the forecast.

About 25 walkers have signed up so far, said Genevieve Fox, one of the event's organizers.

Steps for Life is the primary fundraiser for Threads of Life, which connects people who've suffered workplace injuries and losses.

A longer-term goal is to establish a Threads of Life family forum in Prince George.

Registration is $15 per person. Participants get a T-shirt and there will be a barbecue.

There will also be a memory wall where thoughts about people hurt in workplace incidents can be posted. And through their Facebook page, they're encouraging people to take selfies of themselves in safety gear and send them in to a contest.
