New home construction remains on about the same pace as last year, according to the latest numbers from Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation.
In April, work began on eight single-detached homes, equal to the count for the same month last year, and the year-to-date total stood at 25, one higher than the total four months into 2013.
And work began on two units of multiple-family, compared to four for the same month last year. Up until April, no multiple-family projects were started in either year.
