A woman is in hospital in Vancouver with a serious injury following a stabbing late Thursday morning at a home in the 200 block of Ruggles St.
Called to the scene at 11 a.m., Prince George RCMP members found the 21-year-old woman with a wound to her neck. A 34-year-old man was arrested in the 2100 block of Upland St. without incident a short time later and remains in custody.
The detachment's serious crime section has since been called in to lead the investigation, Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass said yesterday, adding the victim was transported to Vancouver in the morning.
"It does not appear that the victim and the suspect were in a relationship," Douglass said. "Further information will be released as it becomes available."
