Spruceland Elementary School is closed today due to a burning smell and substantial smoke in the building, school district superintendent Brian Pepper said.
"Staff are contacting parents to arrange safe transportation home," Pepper said in an e-mail sent out shortly before 9 a.m.
Prince George Fire Rescue and school district maintenance staff are on site.
