Sport B.C. has named Ariadne Holness de Hiller volunteer of the year during the 18th annual Presidents' Awards.
Holness de Hiller, 10-year volunteer with the Prince George Blizzard Speedskating Club, organizes competitions for athletes and established an emergency action plan for the 2010 B.C. Winter Games, which saved the life of a young skater who took a fall.
The emergency action plan is now used during speedskating events in the nation and was adopted by the National Sport Organization.
