Volunteers at Spirit Day in 2021.

Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation’s annual Spirit Day Radio-thon is returning.

Spirit Day is the Foundation's 12-hour radio-thon held at The Prestige Treasure Cove Hotel in Prince George.

Registration for the event is now open online and teams can compete to see who can raise the most funds.

The event will be broadcast in partnership with 101.3 The River, and 99.3 Rewind Radio and all funds raised stay local, right in the community, to provide vital medical equipment and programs.

Equipment and enhancements to healthcare are needed in many areas throughout the University Hospital of Northern British Columbia (UHNBC) and facilities in the region.

The Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation is working on a number of exciting projects to support better health outcomes.

During the radio-thon volunteers will be accepting donations to provide support for cardiac care, oncology, respiratory/COPD, pediatrics, mental health, and seniors wellness.

One hundred percent of Spirit Day donations will be dedicated to funding medical equipment enhancements to healthcare and donors can choose where to direct their gift.

Spirit Day will take place on May 11 from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
