Prince George student Logan O'Neill has lost the chance to bring home a national spelling title.

The Malaspina elementary Grade 7 student was eliminated in the second round of the Postmedia National Spelling Bee in Toronto this morning.

A visibly nervous O'Neill, who won the regional title March 3 with the word "vincible" was knocked out by "roodebok."

The competition, which began with 21 spellers from across Canada, continues this afternoon with eight spellers moving on to the finals.

The bee will be broadcast in a CBC Television special on April 1.
