The BC SPCA Challenge against Kamloops is winding down with a final fundraiser tonight at Nancy O's from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
There will be cat and dog cocktails on the drink menu and an auction featuring "bad animal art." Tickets are available for $10 at Nancy O's and Books & Company.
To date, Prince George has raised $10,000 and Kamloops has raised $34,000, but no one really loses because all the money goes toward helping animals.
"Everything we raise stays right here," said BC SPCA North Cariboo branch manager, Ann Gough.
She wants to remind everyone that the person who gives the highest individual donation will win a trip for two anywhere WestJet flies.
During May, which is Be Kind to Animals Month, the City Challenge is an annual competition between Prince George and Kamloops to see which city can raise the most money for their respective shelters. This year's goal is $40,000.
