The snow has fallen, so if you're heading out on the road, make sure you have winter tires.

Environment Canada issued a snowfall warning for the Pine Pass along Highway 97 north of Prince George late yesterday (Oct. 16).

The service says up to 10 cm of heavy wet snow could accumulate this morning, thanks to a Pacific low-pressure system moving across the central interior.

Drivers are asked to ensure they have winter tires on their vehicles before hitting the road.

You're also encouraged to adjust driving habits as visibility and conditions may suddenly change at any time.

The warning continues into the Peace River South and McGregor regions, as well as the Yellowhead highway from Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta border.
