Snow in the forecast this week for Prince George

Environment Canada says there is a 40 per cent chance of flurries starting Thursday

It could begin snowing in Prince George as early as Thursday night (via Pixabay).

Get out the snow pants and toques because winter is coming. 

While the official start date for fall is more than a week away, there is already snow in the forecast for Prince George.

Environment Canada is calling for snow or flurries to start flying this week. 

Beginning Thursday night, Environment Canada forecasts a 40 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries with a low of zero. 

Friday will see a 40 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries throughout the day with a high of 10 C and a low of zero. 

Environment Canada is also reporting a 40 per cent chance of rain showers or flurries on Saturday with a high of 11 C and a low of  2 C. 

The most snowfall ever recorded for the weekend of Sept. 13 - 14 happened in 1992 on Sept. 14 when it snowed 1.8 cm.
