Environment Canada is issuing a special weather statement for the Yellowhead Highway at Tete Jaune Cache to the Alberta Border.
From this morning through tonight, about five centimetres of snow is expected on the stretch of Highway 16.
A slow-moving Arctic front will bring the first snow of the season to the Yellowhead region and Yellowhead Pass. Periods of snow will begin this morning and continue through this evening. Be prepared to adjust your driving with changing road conditions. Rapidly accumulating snow could make travel difficult over some locations.
Environment Canada warns that if visibility is reduced while driving, slow down, watch for tail lights ahead and be prepared to stop. Weather in the mountains can change suddenly resulting in hazardous driving conditions.
