SNHCF annual meeting results

During the 19th annual general meeting, members of Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation learned the organization grossed revenues totaling $2,771,234 from which $1,356,344 were issued in grants to University Hospital of Northern B.C.

During the 19th annual general meeting, members of Spirit of the North Healthcare Foundation learned the organization grossed revenues totaling $2,771,234 from which $1,356,344 were issued in grants to University Hospital of Northern B.C. and many other health facilities throughout Northern Health Authority.

CEO Don Gowan reported that the organization, based in Prince George, over the past year shows the highest amount of dollars raised per employee and the lowest per cent of paid out salaries and related costs, compared to revenues, among hospital foundations in Kamloops, Kelowna, Nanaimo, Grande Prairie and several other cities across the nation.

President Carol Beebee said during the coming year SNHCF will continue to strive to ensure that northern people receive the best treatment possible at centres of which they can be proud.

Elections held at the meeting resulted in re-election of Beebee (Tim Horton's), Darren Masse (BMO Nesbit Burns), Hugh Nicholson, (Prince George Citizen), Andrea Rosa (Splash Media) and Shane Lapierre (P.G. Firefighters).

New board members are Michele Calogheros (RBC Dominion Securities), Ray Kandola (City Furniture), Trevor Lutes (Scotiabank), and Tom Sentes (Wood Wheaton) who join remaining directors Ray Gerow, Judy Jackson, Rick Reinbolt and Roy Spooner as well as past president, Diane Rogers.

Continuing as representative directors are Dr. Michele Sutter (medical) and Lorraine Bilodeau (hospital auxiliary).
