Smoke signals

Smoke is expected to increase with forecast warmer weather during the weekend on fires west of Prince George, including the 40,000-hectare Binta Lake fire.

Smoke is expected to increase with forecast warmer weather during the weekend on fires west of Prince George, including the 40,000-hectare Binta Lake fire.

The Binta Lake area, 150 kilometres west of Prince George, did receive some more rain Thursday, but the forecast drier weather Friday and today, means the fire, one of the largest in the province, will put up smoke, B.C. Forest Service information officer Lindsay Carnes said Friday.
