Smoke is visible in Prince George

Smoke from the Comstock Lake fire, about 100 kms west of Hixon, has drifted north and is visible in the Prince George area. The wind shifted, increasing the smoke over the city and is expected to linger in the area for the next few days.

Smoke from the Comstock Lake fire, about 100 kms west of Hixon, has drifted north and is visible in the Prince George area.

The wind shifted, increasing the smoke over the city and is expected to linger in the area for the next few days.

The Comstock Lake fire is now the largest wildfire in the Prince George Fire Centre and is about 1,100 hectares in size. There is no threat to communities or structures.

Anyone who sees open flames or a strong column of smoke should call *5555 on a cell phone or 1-800-663-555 to provide as much detail as possible.
