Continued forest fires have prompted another wildfire smoke advisory to be issued for Prince George and the surrounding areas.

The joint Ministry of Environment, Northern Health and City of Prince George warning notes that smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change.

Average hourly fine particulate concentrations were measured at 29 micrograms per cubic metre with a 24-hour average of 28 micrograms per cubic metre.

Those with chronic underlying medical conditions should put off any strenuous activity until the advisory is lifted.

The city's Clean Air bylaw prohibits all open burning, including backyard burning and land clearing burning. Recreational fires and street sweeping activities are also no goes during advisories.
