Regional wildfires are still clouding Prince George air, prompting another smoke advisory to be issued.
The Ministry of Environment sent out the warning Monday afternoon due to forest fire smoke affecting Prince George and the surrounding area with fine particulate matter concentrations at 35.1 micrograms per cubic metre at 3 p.m.
Smoke concentrations will vary widely as winds, fire behaviour and temperatures change, according to the advisory.
Those with chronic underlying medical conditions are advised to postpone strenuous exercise until the advisory is lifted. The city's Clean Air bylaw prohibits all open burning - including backyard and land clearing - as well as recreational fires and street sweeping activities during the advisory period.
Free bus service will begin at midnight and continue until midnight the day the advisory is lifted under the city's Free Fare for Clean Air program.
