Police are urging drivers to refrain from leaving valuables in their vehicles after seeing a spike in smash and grabs over the last two weeks.
Prince George RCMP have received 29 reports of such thefts since Feb. 7, often involving items like wallets and electronic devices left in plain sight.
The incidents have occurred in most parts of Prince George and during all hours of the day, RCMP said.
"The Prince George RCMP believe that if all valuables are removed from the vehicle or placed in the trunk in advance of your destination, that you will not be the victim of this type of crime," Cpl. Craig Douglass said.
