A man aiming to set the rollerblading distance record stops in Prince George this morning.
Kevin Ebra, the self-proclaimed Skateman, is one the last legs of his 6,700-kilometre trek across the country to raise $200,000 for the Childhood Cancer Canada Foundation.
His 120-day trip began in Toronto and will wrap up in Vancouver Nov. 18.
Ebra modeled his trip - titled Canada! The Land of Peace - after Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope.
"I like travelling the same [route] as Terry Fox because [it's] a very good cause and Terry Fox gave a new message for everybody that all people are a big family," said Ebra.
This is Ebra's longest inline-skate attempt after previous treks of 2,750 kilometres and 4,000 kilometres in his home country of Iran.
The Guinness World Record for longest distance covered in inline skates is held by Khoo Swee Chiow of Singapore, who completed a 6,088 km trip in 2008.
Ebra will be at city hall at 10 a.m. today with Mayor Shari Green, as well as members of the local roller derby team.
