Six-time car thief in jail

Prince George RCMP hit the jackpot Jan. 19 when they arrested a local man who had stolen a Mazda pickup truck from the Superstore parking lot.

Prince George RCMP hit the jackpot Jan. 19 when they arrested a local man who had stolen a Mazda pickup truck from the Superstore parking lot.

RCMP attended, did some investigation work, and 15 minutes late found the stolen vehicle at the Pine Centre parking lot.

The accused, 33-year-old Brian Allan Burger, was not only arrested for that particular vehicle theft, but has been linked to five other vehicle thefts occurring in Prince George since Jan. 5.

Burger faces a volley of 16 charges including six counts of theft under $5,000, six counts of possession of property obtained by crime, three counts of breach of probation and a charge of possession of a controlled substance.

Burger, who is well-known to police,has been remanded in custody until Jan. 26th when he will appear in court.
