Six religions meet

Scholars and representatives of six religions will come together to share beliefs and love of country during the World Religions Conference in Prince George.

Scholars and representatives of six religions will come together to share beliefs and love of country during the World Religions Conference in Prince George.

Themed Love of Country is Part of My Faith, the conference of Aboriginal, Buddhism, Christianity,

Sikhism, Hinduism and Islam religions will participate in the event on Tuesday in the Canfor Theatre at UNBC.

The conference is being organized with cooperation from Guru Gobind Singh Sikh Temple Association, St. Michael's and All Angels' Anglican Church, Hindu Society, UNBC First Nation Centre and Insight Meditation Society.

Deputy Mayor Brian Skakun will preside at and moderate the conference

Religion representatives will be Gloria George (Aboriginal), Father Joe Ponic (Christianity)

John DeGrace (Buddhism), Giani Harminder Pal Singh (Sikhism), Dr. Parnesh Kumar (Hinduism) and Muhammad Afzal Mirza (Islamic).
