One man has died after a crash just east of Prince George yesterday night (Oct. 14).

Cpl. Craig Douglass says Mounties received a report at roughly 8 p.m. of a single-vehicle crash in the 6200-block Upper Fraser Road.

When police attended the incident, a turned over SUV was discovered along with a 67-year-old man who was found deceased.

Douglass says witness statements and evidence show the driver was travelling at a high rate of speed when he failed to navigate a curve in the road.

The driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time and he was the only person inside the vehicle.

The BC Coroners Service has attended the scene and is conducting a parallel fact-finding investigation to determine and confirm the cause of death.

Douglass says no more information will be released about the man found deceased.
