Northern Gateway plans to advertise its Prince George office soon.

The pipeline company opened an office in Prince George in November, but nine months later there is still no indication the building at Parkwood Place houses the project's headquarters.

A company spokesman confirmed signage plans are still in the works and the delay was due to a production problem.

At the the time of grand opening of the office in November, Enbridge vice-president of western access Janet Holder touted the need for the parent company and the Northern Gateway subsidiary to play an active role in the community.

Northern Gateway is seeking to build a heavy pipeline from northern Alberta to Kitimat along with an export terminal so oilsands products can be shipped to Asia. National Energy Board hearings wrapped up in June and a recommendation to the federal government is expected by the end of the year.

Enbridge competitor Trans-Canada opened an office in Prince George in June and the Kinsman Place location is already adorned with a sign.
