Shots fired over long weekend

Prince George RCMP responded to several reports of shots fired over the long weekend as a result of fireworks but one of them turned out to be the real thing.

Police were called to the 3700 block of Dezell Drive just shortly after midnight Monday where they found two gunshot holes in a home and a shotgun in the street.

None of the occupants of the residence were injured while a search of the area failed to turn up any suspects.

The Prince George RCMP does not believe this was a random act or that members of the public are in danger," Cpl. Craig Douglass said. "Persons in the residence are known to police."

Canada Day fireworks typically lead to several reports of shots fired, Douglass said.

Any one with information about the incident is asked to contact the Prince George RCMP at (250) 561-3300 or anonymously contact Crime Stoppers at 1(800)222-TIPS (8477), online at
