Shoplifter sentenced to 60 days

The last of a trio of related women caught shoplifting last month has been sentenced to 60 days in jail and one year probation.

Gina Anne Monk, 36, was issued the term Thursday in Prince George provincial court for a July 11 incident at Real Canadian Superstore.

A day later, Joann Monk, 48, was sentenced to 19 days in jail and Casey Dawn Monk, 36, was sentenced to one year probation with a suspended sentence.

More than $450 worth of items believed to have been stolen from the store were found on them, RCMP said at the time.

On Thursday, Gina Monk was also sentenced to 30 days in jail for theft $5,000 or under from a March 2015 incident and assessed $200 in victim surcharges.

She was in custody for 37 days prior to sentencing.
