City council candidate Travis Shaw unveiled his election platform in a low-key press conference on Tuesday.
Shaw, better known as gender-bending entertainer Foxy de Rossi, said he hopes his ability to engage people will be a benefit on city council.
"My platform is to create more-involved communities and safer neighbourhoods," Shaw said.
"What I'd like to see is more events downtown, like we had Summerfest recently."
Shaw, 27, said he'd also advocate to bring community events and recreational facilities for youth, seniors and families into neighbourhoods where they are accessible to all.
One project Shaw said would be a priority for him is a proposed skateboard park in the Hart.
"I was on the student board of the Prince George Community Foundation that founded the skateboard park we have," Shaw said.
Shaw has been recognized in Prince George for his work promoting acceptance and tolerance of gay and transgendered youth.
However, he said he hopes to reach out to the community as a someone who "really cares about the people."
"I've been the face on the billboard and the person in line in McDonalds. I still have a 9 to 5 job - two of them," Shaw said. "I want to get out more as Travis, rather than the entertainer."
