Prince George RCMP are on the lookout for a man suspected of sexually assaulting a woman during a real estate open house on Sunday morning.

He is alleged to have came up behind her and touched her back before groping her as she was showing him a unit at the new complex in the 2600 block of Recplace Drive, near the corner of Highways 16 and 97.

When the woman yelled out, the man left the area on foot, police said.

The suspect is described as Indigenous, 35-45 years old, about 5’10" tall with a medium build and was wearing transitions glasses, a dark blue hoody, baseball cap and light blue jeans with rips in the knees.

"The sexual assault happened in the middle of the day in a busy area of town. We want the public to be aware this happened and to remain vigilant when dealing with strangers on a one-on-one basis," Cpl. Jennifer Cooper said in a statement.

The woman was not physically injured and there have been no further reports of any similar incidents, RCMP said.

Police are conducting an extensive video canvass in the area and are asking anyone who may have images, video surveillance or dash cam showing the suspect leaving the location around 11:15 a.m. to contact the detachment at 250-561-3300. Quote file 2022-10162.
