Six of the 106 homes in the Hart Highlands which are not connected to the city's sanitary sewer system are likely to have the service approved by city council on Monday.

Residents of Dunbar Place petitioned the city to have sewers installed on the six-house crescent off of Croft Road in June 2016, according to a city staff report to city council.

Dunbar Place was included in formal petition process which sought input from the Hart homes still not connected to city sewage in July 2017, but there wasn't enough support and the service expansion didn't go ahead.

So Dunbar Place residents submitted a second petition, signed by all six homeowners on the crescent, to the city on September 2017. The city conducted a formal petition and all six homeowners were in support.

The cost of installing the sewer service is estimated at $162,000, according to the city report. If approved by city council on Monday, the cost will be divided equally among the six property owners and repaid over 20 years through a special parcel tax.
