The first seedling from the Carbon Offset Aggregate Cooperative was planted Tuesday at the Railway and Forestry Museum in Prince George.

More than seven billion trees have been planted in B.C. since 1930 and more than two billion have been planted in the last 11 years to replace the trees that have been destroyed by mountain pine beetle devastation and wild fires.

Today, the first 9,000 trees will be planted for carbon offset purposes southwest of Quesnel.
