Sentencing will take place next week in provincial court for Singh Sidhu, who pleaded guilty to one count of driving without due care and attention resulting in a fatal crash.
Sidhu, 40, appeared in court on Tuesday as closing remarks were given from both Crown and defence counsel.
On Jan. 28, 2013, Sidhu, a professional truck driver from Calgary, was involved in a collision with two tractor trailer units on Highway 97, near Hixon.
A Surrey man died at the scene.
Sidhu was granted bail in July, despite failing to appear in court twice in relation to the fatal crash.
On July 19, Sidhu said he did not appear for sentencing because Highway 16 was closed due to a traffic accident but it was later determined by Crown prosecutor Marie-Loiuse Ahrens that there were no reported closures on the highways from Alberta border to Prince George.
Prior to this, Sidhu did not appear in court on May 25 saying that he thought he was to have appeared on the 26th, even though it was a Saturday.
A warrant for his arrest was issued and on June 5, Sidhu was released on bail for $5,000.
In July, Sidhu was also released on $5,000 bail with restrictions allowing him to stay in Prince George under house arrest while residing with a relative.
Sidhu will remain on house arrest until his sentencing next week.
