An 82-year-old man has pleaded guilty to two counts of trafficking in prescription drugs.

Joseph Augustin Andre Lemelin entered the pleas during a brief hearing in provincial court at the Prince George courthouse on Wednesday.

The outcome stems from a Nov. 16, 2011 police takedown at Lemelin's home on Douglas Street near 10th Avenue.

Executing a search warrant, police uncovered a cache of more than 1,000 pills made up of a dozen brands under prescriptions made out to people other than Lemelin, Prince George RCMP said at the time.

The pills included quantities of Diazepam, Clonazepam, Lorazepam and Alprazolam, according to police.

No details on the incident were provided during the hearing Wednesday and the case was adjourned to set a date for sentencing. Charges against Lemelin's 76-year-old brother, Joseph Alphonse Eudore Lemelin, who was also arrested at the time, are expected to be stayed at that time.
