Charges have been approved against a second man in relation to an alleged attempt to flee police in a stolen pickup truck earlier this week.

Devin Albert Olson, 27, faces counts of possession of stolen property, willfully resisting or obstructing a peace officer and breach of probation.

He and Gregory Scott Saugstad, 43, were arrested Tuesday evening while a third person remains at large.

RCMP said they were attempting to pull over a stolen Ford F-250 on Highway 97 near Red Rock when the driver attempted to flee and collided with a police vehicle on Red Rock Road West.

One was arrested inside the pickup truck but two others took off on foot.

With the help of a police service dog and handler, a suspect was arrested about a kilometre away.

Saugstad faces six charges, including possession of stolen property and dangerous driving.

Both remained in custody as of Thursday.
