The search team combing the rubble-heaped Northern Thunderbird Air fire site for human remains came up empty as of noon on Friday.

UNBC's Dr. Richard Lazenby, forensic anthropologist, is leading a search team in finding human remains that relate to Prince George resident, Vernon Martin, who has been missing since a fire destroyed the NTA hangar on Dec. 19 at the Prince George Airport.

Lazenby said during the third day of the search that no human remains had been discovered.

He said a two-strategy search process involves use of a front-end loader and excavator to remove and examine larger and smaller debris.

"It's working very well and we're making better progress than we anticipated," said Lazenby who added the search area is now just under 50 per cent completed.

Lazenby remains firm in his belief that if there are remains on the site, "we will find them."
