The Scotia Bank Multiple Sclerosis Walk is on Sunday at Fort George Park with registration at 11 a.m. The walk starts at 12 noon and is followed by lunch courtesy of Subway restaurants.
Funds, raised through individual and team pledges, stay in Prince George to provide services and programs for local MS clients, said Joann Smiley, local MS board chair, who encourages all who are affected by MS or wish to support the cause to join in the walk that's always a fun event.
"Last year we had 125 walkers and raised $17,852. We hope to raise more money this year, but we are really focused on making this walk better known in the community. Overall, our
main mission is to do everything we can to improve the quality of life for MS clients."
Pledge forms are available at the MS office in the Kiwanis Building at 490 Quebec St. or download forms from the web site: www.mswalks.ca. For more information call Smiley at 250-564-7074.
