The Science World on the Road traveling show is bringing its zany brand of science to Prince George.
From Monday, May 2 to Friday, May 6, the troupe will host shows at schools around the city designed to get students thinking about careers in science if not just keep them entertained.
Jaw-dropping and playful, the presentations will give students a chance to discover energy, forces, pressure and the creativity of science.
For those who've caught the science bug, a career networking event will be held at Kelly Road secondary school on Wednesday, May 4, 9:30 a.m. to noon for Grade 10 to 12 students.
And on Saturday, May 7, there will be a grand finale community science celebration at College of New Caledonia, 10:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. The free, family-oriented event will be filled with shows and fund hands-on activities.
Also, The Exploration Place will host a traveling nature exchange -- a kind of natural "swap shop" where students can answer questions from a quiz about natural items to get points.
The points can then be used to trade out for items from nature that will be onsite, such as shells, turtle scutes, and stones.
They will also have a Van de Graaf generator onsite for static electricity demos and a vacuum chamber for zero air pressure demos.
