B.C.'s post-secondary institutions are hosting a Prince George public session tonight to appeal to parents in hopes they keep their kids in province.

The Post-Secondary Institutions of BC event will feature 14 options with a goal of "helping parents better understand the many post-secondary options and paths for students in B.C."

For the second year, the travelling tour has expanded its in-school sessions to the evening so parents can get involved in the conversation.

After a presentation at the Prince George Civic Centre, parents can have one-on-one time with representatives from each school during an open fair.

Both local options - the University of Northern British Columbia and the College of New Caledonia - will be courting candidates.

Travelling universities include: Simon Fraser University, University of British Columbia, Thompson Rivers University, Capilano University, Trinity Western University, University of Victoria, Vancouver Island University, Kwantlen Polytechnic University and Fairleigh Dickinson University.

Others include: Canadian Armed Forces - Royal Military College, Nicola Valley Institute of Technology and Okanagan College.

The event, organized by PSI-BC, also traveled to Kamloops and Nanaimo. The information session will run from 7 to 9 p.m. at the Prince George Civic Centre.
