A pair of new faces have moved into the top spot at the Salvation Army.
Pastors Neil and Crystal Wilkinson are the newly minted co-captains (and corps and community officers, respectively) of the ministry stationed at the Prince George Community Church on Ospika Boulevard.
The husband and wife team replace previous pastors Bruce and Lara Kirk, who served here for six years before relocating to Maple Ridge last month. During his last weeks in the city Kirk wore multiple hats, also serving as the interim executive director of the Baldy Hughes Therapeutic Community.
In town for less than two weeks, the Wilkinsons -- who are coming off of a seven-year stint at the Salvation Army in Port Alberni -- are still finding their way around.
"We haven't unpacked yet," said Neil.
But once settled the twosome have plans for their new ministry, including expanding the food share program frequently seen in grocery stores to other businesses, creating strides in recycling and creating awareness for different avenues of charitable giving.
"Most people just aren't aware of the things available in this day and age," he said.
