The Salvation Army is witnessing a "staggering" increase in the demand for its services. According to numbers issued Friday, 3,925 daily ration food bags were handed out in March, an 81-per-cent jump from the same month last year.

According to numbers issued Friday, 3,925 daily ration food bags were handed out in March, an 81-per-cent jump from the same month last year. Likewise, 1,999 hot meals were served, a 95-per-cent increase, and 484 food bank hampers were provided, a 39-per-cent hike.
