Health Canada has issued a safety warning for two brands of Christmas lights.
They are Taizhou Hongpeng Colour Lanterns (CSA file number 241989) and Ningbo EGO International Co. Ltd. (CSA file number 263917).
The hazards include overheating, as well as the risk of fire and electric shock, the agency said Monday.
The CSA file number is found on the manufacturer's product identification label, attached to one end of a string of lights.
"If your lights have either of these numbers you should stop using these products immediately," Health Canada said and added consumers are encouraged to return the products to the place where they were purchased.
