A northern B.C. elder went missing in a southern B.C. location, but ended up being just fine.

Mission RCMP were contacted Monday about the senior citizen visiting from Southbank, B.C. who had gone unaccounted for in the unfamiliar town.

"He came down with a group of people who were here for a gathering and they couldn't locate him for a time. They became worried about him and so we were called," Mission RCMP Cpl. Clint Jaworski told The Citizen.

Details of the search and the subsequent location of the missing man were not disclosed other than Jaworski's confirmation that "he was found well, he was safe, and he is doing just fine."

Southbank is a community of less than 1,000 people located on the south shore of Francois Lake, about 200 kilometres west of Prince George. Mission is a Lower Mainland city of about 40,000 people north of Abbotsford and east of Port Coquitlam.
