A Prince George roofing company has been fined $2,500 for failing to ensure fall protection was in place at a job site.

WorkSafeBC issued the fine to Thor's Hammer Roofing Inc. after an inspector found three workers, including a representative of the firm, re-roofing a two-storey house without protection despite a risk of falling as much as 5.5 metres.

"Tripping hazards on the roof included air lines and bundles of shingles," WorkSafeBC noted in an online posting.

The fine was levied in October.
